For a unique sensory experience, a relaxing morning at The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, where the gardens display the native plants of the Central Texas Hill Country, South and West Texas, while the Plant Conservation Program protects the ecological heritage of Texas by conserving its rare and endangered flora.

Music lovers and locals unite at Sixth Street in downtown Austin where the true roots of the “live music capital of the world” come out every night to support national, regional and local touring acts of every musical persuasion. There is never a dull moment among the local music scene, and the annual SXSW and Austin City Limits Festival have become staples among the nation’s music industry and fans.

For the curious traveler, Austin provides one of the most interesting natural spectacles every night at sunset. From Spring into Fall over 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats make their grand entrance into the night just under the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge, a sight that has to be seen to be believed.

Austin Duck Adventures offer guests an amphibious tour of the downtown area and Lake Austin inside an unsinkable, US coast guard inspected, Hydra Terra vehicle.
